A plastic washing line is a machine that thoroughly cleans and prepares plastic waste for further processing. The main task of a plastic washing line is to ensure that plastic waste is thoroughly cleaned before further processing. A plastic washing line is the first step in a variety of plastic waste recycling plants. Plastics are a major environmental issue worldwide, and plastic washing lines are an indispensable piece of equipment to help manage and streamline the recycling process.
With years of technological improvements and process experience, we at Elant have a variety of different solutions for recycling PET bottles, LDPE/LLDPE films, PP woven bags, PP non-woven fabrics, PE bags, HDPE/LDPE/PP/PE bottles, milk bottles, cosmetic containers, vegetable and fruit boxes, barrels, hollow containers, etc.
Components of a Plastic Washing Line
Sorting Conveyor: The initial stage involves sorting plastic waste by type, size, and color. Automated systems or manual labor can be used to ensure that only suitable plastics proceed to the next stage.
Shredder/Crusher: The sorted plastic waste is then fed into a shredder or crusher, which reduces the size of the plastic materials into smaller, more manageable pieces. This facilitates easier cleaning and further processing.
Washing Tank: The shredded plastic is transferred to washing tanks where it is immersed in water or a cleaning solution. Here, agitation and detergents help to remove dirt, labels, and other contaminants.
Friction Washer: A friction washer uses high-speed rotating blades to scrub the plastic pieces, further removing stubborn contaminants and ensuring a thorough clean.
Rinsing Tank: After washing, the plastic pieces are rinsed in clean water to remove any remaining detergent or cleaning agents. This step is crucial to ensure that the plastic is free from any residues that could affect its quality in subsequent processes.
Centrifugal Dryer: The cleaned plastic is then fed into a centrifugal dryer, which uses high-speed spinning to remove excess water. This step prepares the plastic for final processing or packaging.
Air Classifier: Some washing lines include an air classifier, which separates plastic pieces based on their weight and density. This helps in ensuring uniformity and quality of the recycled material.
